Why Waterpik is better than JetPik

There is an active debate going on about Waterpik and JetPik and which one is better than another one. And there are guys doing some benchmarks and trying to promote one or another brand(especially on YouTube.) I think that Waterpik and JetPik are just different, and they both have some pros and cons. But let’s focus on the why Waterpik is better than JetPik and in what exactly aspects it is. You can also read Why JetPik is better than Waterpik.

So Waterpik is one of the most well-known and well-established water flossers brands out there. And while JetPik is trying to promote itself as a modern replacement of Waterpik, Waterpik is the oldest company that has a long history of producing water flossers for years. Some of your parents probably used Waterpik water flossers.

Brand history and reputation

So the first reason why Waterpik is better than JetPik is the brand history and reputation. It means that Waterpik is well-known and established itself as a high-quality water flossers company.

It also means Waterpik works hard to maintain its reputation and keep its customers happy. In case you have any issues or questions to Waterpik you can easily reach out to them via email or social media or the old good phone call and they will help you.

I tested their customer support and contacted them via email and they answered all my questions pretty quickly. And while I personally didn’t have any issues with my Waterpik I saw some evidence of good warranty support around the Internet. And I also believe that the good responsiveness via email proofs that Waterpik actually cares about their customers.

Waterpik water flossers are reliable

Waterpik has been making water flossers for years. The company has been working since 1962. So their devices are time-tested. It means they work reliably and consistently with no issues.

I have heard some stories on forums that people had their Waterpiks for 30+ years and didn’t have any issues with them. I believe this is an outstanding reliability.

I have my Waterpik for 1+ year and have no problems with it at all, and I am absolutely happy with its work.

So when you are choosing a Waterpik, you can be sure that it’s the most reliable water flosser, and it’s certainly more reliable than JetPik.

And while JetPik has its own advantages over Waterpik, it’s still a young brand. It’s also a more complicated water flosser.

Please note that there are still “edge cases” happening and people sometimes are not satisfied with both Waterpik and JetPik. It happens because of the incorrect use in most cases or the factory defect. It’s normal. So make sure you adhere to the Waterpik maintenance rules(see my Waterpik Maintenance Guide.)

Waterpik is more convenient for home

Waterpik water flossers are unbeatable in terms of convenience when used at home, in my opinion. The best models for the home are countertop and combination Waterpiks. They stay on your counter space, and all you have to do to start using them is fill the water reservoir and turn on the device. No charging, no unwrapping tubes, etc.

When you use a JetPik on the other hand, you have to take the JetPik cup, pull out the accessories holder and place it somewhere(and have a free space to keep it there while you are water flossing.) Then you have to open the cup on the bottom and unwrap the rubber tube and attach it to the JetPik handle. And only then you can fill the cup with some water and start water flossing your teeth. And don’t forget to dettach the tube from the handle and wrap it back on the cup and put the accessories holder back into the cup when you are finished.

It’s a lot of steps, and while this flexibility is desirable for travel, it’s may be annoying for home. So that’s why I believe that Waterpik is better than JefPik in terms of how easy it is to start using it at home.

What Waterpik I recommend

I recommend getting Waterpik Ultra. It’s the most reliable and efficient model. It serves well for the whole family as well.

I don’t recommend getting a Cordless Waterpik. In my opinion, they are not as successful as regular Waterpiks and people complain a lot about some flaws in them.

Conclusion

Both Waterpik and JetPik are good water flossers. Though, they both have their pros and cons. There are several reasons why I think Waterpik is better than JetPik. Waterpik is more reliable, has a longer brand history and therefore more experience and reputation. It is more convenient for use at home as well.
